Parents of Eula ISD kids. The issue with MySchoolBucks to deposit lunch money has been resolved. The system should be up and working correctly now. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Thank you for your patience with dismissal yesterday and there are going to be adjustments for today’s release. 1st change will be the entrance and traffic directions once in the parking lot. Next will be the release times and loading. PreK will release at 3:25 and all other grades will release at 3:35. In the cafeteria parking lot you will enter the far in as usual and be directed through the lot in an S pattern then we will utilize two lanes for pick up, see map. In the MS parking lot you will enter the far end and use a pick up lane and exit lane to leave how you came in. Again see map. Also if grades 2nd and below have an older sibling they will be all grouped together and picked up at the MS gym parking lot/awning instead of having to pick up at two spots. Again we will release K-6 at 3:35. Thank you for your patience as we work through this new process. Please look at the map on Facebook and the Livestream before coming this afternoon.

Eula ISD Families,
The staff at Eula ISD hopes you are enjoying your summer break and staying healthy. We understand that our students and families are anxiously awaiting clarification as to what the 2020-2021 school year will look like. The Eula ISD Administration has been working continuously to prepare for the year and is in constant communication with the Texas Education Agency. We receive new information every day and are utilizing this to put plans into action. As of today, July 14th, we are planning the following:
- Traditional, in-person instruction on campus with safety precautions being developed by Eula ISD beginning August 19th for those who choose to attend.
- Those choosing not to attend will have access to remote learning at home which will require more from the school and student than remote instruction that occurred in the spring. This will include, but not be limited to, a more traditional grading approach, daily assignments due, logged time spent daily on instruction, and daily attendance taken.
- Participation in certain Extra-Curricular activities will follow No Pass, No Play rules and may be linked to an in-person learning model.
Since March, this situation has been fluid, and we continue to receive new guidance from State officials daily. Please understand that your school Administration and staff is working diligently to prepare to provide the high-quality education that you have become accustomed to at Eula ISD. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through a very complicated situation. We will continue to update you as pertinent information becomes available. Stay safe and healthy.

Eula Athletes:
The UIL announced today the cancellation of the remainder of the spring sports season. We are heartbroken to see this news, but realize it’s in the interest of your health and safety. This is just another example of the lessons you have learned in athletics throughout the years, being put into play again. We are accustomed to “you win some, you lose some”.... but very rarely have we ever been faced with not being able to play the game and compete. Some of you may feel that “all of your work was for nothing.” This could not be further from the truth. The work you put into preparing for this spring is the part of the JOURNEY that is the most important. Although you didn’t get a chance to reach your destination, you can look back on your journey and be proud of the way you prepared. Seniors, you are off to bigger and better things. You will find times in life that, like this season, don’t work out due to things out of your control. You can look back at this spring and realize that regardless the outcome, you want to make sure you prepare each day in a way you can be proud of. Our younger athletes should never take for granted a chance to prepare (practice), because they now know that your next practice or game is not guaranteed.
We are proud of another great year for Eula Athletics, and know that this spring was going to be the best one yet! We will find a way to honor our seniors at some point. We hope, as restrictions become less, that we will have summer opportunities to get back to work preparing for next year with our younger athletes. In the meantime, your work and commitment is in your hands. We can send workouts, but it’s up to you to make sure you can look back and be proud of your preparation when we all return!
Eula Coaches

The Governor announced today that all schools will remain closed for the remainder of the school year. This is tough news to handle for our staff and teachers that miss our students. We are especially sad for our graduating seniors. Eula ISD will continue to provide remote instruction for the remainder of the school year. We will be in touch as soon as possible with a plan for end of year activities for our students. (Graduations, proms, end of year device returns, etc.) Together, we will continue to work through this situation, and focus on the well being of our students, staff, and community. #PiratePride

We have about 25 grab and go meals for the week that we’re not picked up Monday. If you did not pick one up Monday, and need one, they will be available from 10AM-12PM today at the Elementary drop off.

Seniors! Jostens will be in the parking lot at 2 pm tomorrow (April 15th) to deliver caps and gowns. It will be a drive through system... We can't wait to see y'all!

Two awesome resources to help battle emotions during our Stay-at-Home orders. The first is a Coronavirus Anxiety Workbook that can be helpful for both parents and students. The second is a story about 2 children that are learning to navigate the anxiety of the virus and all that comes with it. Please let the school know if you need a copy printed and mailed to you.

Due to our new ‘normal’, stress, depression, and hard times may be falling on our families. Attached is a list of a few resources you can find in our community. The link has a list of resources available state/nation wide. Please reach out to myself or any Eula Administrator if we can assist you in any way.

Practice Social Distancing
To avoid the spread of COVID-19 in our community, practice social distancing:
• Avoid going out in public
• When in public, keep six feet of distance between you and others
• Follow guidance provided by local and state officials.
Information at https://texas.gov/covid19
#covid19 #texasstrong #stayhome

The Eula I.S.D. community must work together to fight COVID-19. Head to http://tea.texas.gov/staywell for vitally important public health guidance to stop the spread. If we stand apart as a community now, we will be together again soon.

We will serve Lunch and Breakfast at normal times today (11:00AM-1:00PM) at the Elementary drop off. On Wednesday, we will distribute for the remainder of the week (Wed, Thur, Fri) from those same times at the Elementary drop off. Please call the Admin. office at 325-529-3186 if you have questions.

Parents, Class Dojo has experienced some technical difficulties and is currently down. Please have patience and Teachers will contact you when Dojo is back up and functioning properly. Thank you for your patience.

There are also hot spot areas at Shotwell Stadium in Abilene and in downtown Clyde.

First, I would like to say that everyone here at Eula ISD misses our students. Second, if you are in search of a WiFi hot spot to work on school work, try the parking lot of the High School.

Parents, thank you for the great job during pickup today! Thank you Eula Staff today for showing what is great about Eula! Directions on computer login, the student assigned to that computer must be the one that logs in on it and both children work off that login. Thank you

Today we will begin at home learning, and are having a material pick up on both campuses this morning.

Eula Band Students and Parents: Mr. Hooper will be at the band hall today from 3-5 to pass out instruments and music for students and parents who are unable to pick up tomorrow. Please come get your instrument and music today from 3-5 PM or tomorrow from 9 AM - 12 PM.

Please review the information released by the UIL in regards to UIL Activity at this point.
"Please know that we realize you are looking for clarity in this uncertain time. Unfortunately, we simply do not have enough information at this moment to provide you with a detailed plan for moving forward with UIL activities. As soon as we have more information on when schools will resume operations, we will quickly respond with a detailed plan for resuming UIL competitions. At this point, we are committed to completing all of our competitive seasons that have not yet been completed. While the immediate future is unclear, we will continue to develop contingency plans and prepare for all possible outcomes, including extended school closures.
We have previously communicated that all UIL activities are suspended until March 30th. Given information related to school closures available at this time, we are extending that timeframe. UIL games and contests will resume no earlier than Monday, May 4th. Prior to that date, to allow students and schools to reenter competition, UIL will provide a reasonable acclimatization period for rehearsals and practices to occur, consistent with the advice of local, state and federal officials. We will reevaluate the beginning dates for practices and rehearsals as we receive more information about schools resuming.
We will be providing more guidance on district and post-season date adjustments related to this extension in the coming days. We will be as flexible as possible to help you complete district competitions and provide your students with all of the benefits that come from competition. Please do not begin to make plans for district competition prior to receiving this additional information."

Eula ISD will be announcing an update on transferring from school based to home based learning tomorrow. Stay tuned to the app the next couple of days for further details.

Congrats to Pirate Basketball Players Dakota Boles and David Phillips for their selection to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC) All Region Team. Great job guys! #PiratePride
https://tabchoops.org/2020/01/uil-all-region-boys/

The Jr/Sr Prom has been postponed to a later date.

Reminder that Eula ISD will be closed Monday and Tuesday due to precautions over COVID-19. A student survey over Spring Break travel and potential COVID-19 exposure has been sent out via Eula App, twitter, and Facebook. Please fill out the survey for each student ASAP.

Parents, please fill out one of the attached screening forms for each of your students. This information is needed as we prepare to make decisions that keep our students, staff, and community safe.
https://forms.gle/VCUQsiFV92kjN64b8

Due to situations beyond our control, all Eula Pirate Band events for the upcoming week have been cancelled. We look forward to seeing you when school resumes.

Per the UIL Release from earlier today, all UIL contest will be suspended from March 16th-29th. There will be no practices until classes resume, which is now scheduled for Wednesday, March 18th. Eula ISD will keep you informed with any further changes to status of extra-curricular events.

The highest priority of Eula ISD is the health and safety of our students, staff, and community. With growing concern over COVID-19 the district is having preventative closures on Monday and Tuesday. The district will spend those days preparing for the return of students on Wednesday, unless otherwise mandated by the Texas Education Agency, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), or Texas Commissioner of Education.

We have just been notified by the HEB Foundation Encampment that the campsite will be closed for the next two weeks; therefore Baird/Eula Outdoor Education (scheduled for March 17-20) will be postponed with the possibility for a later date. Thank you.

We had an amazing opportunity today celebrating this great country we live in by honoring our local veterans. Eula's 2020 senior class used this 75th Anniversary of World War II to recognize our veterans from that era and the sacrifices they made. Out of the 16 million Americans who served in WWII, less than 380,000 are alive today. It is estimated that around 300 WWII veterans die each day.
Our Pirate Band presented a powerful presentation of patriotic music under the direction of Carl Hooper. Kindergarten, 3rd and 5th grade as well as our Elementary Leadership team performed songs and poetry to honor our special guests.
Nancy Galle and Thomas Rock, both Eula graduates, honored thier fathers' Hicks Turner and Claude Rock, both WWII veterans. The crowd enjoyed memories of their fathers' experiences and heroism.
Keynote speaker was Mr. Walter Nicolds, curator of the Dyess Airforce Museum.
Thank you to all our veterans for your service.
