UPDATED SCHOLARSHIP PAGE

This is a listing of all the scholarships I receive in my office, or that I know about from last year.  They will be listed by the month they are due.  It is best not to wait until the last minute to submit an application. Click on the name of the scholarship, and it will take you to the appropriate website, or it will direct you to come to my office.  I have also included several websites to do scholarship searches, and to make you aware of scholarship scams. If you find a link that is not active, please let me know.

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION TIPS
What Committees look for:
  • Neatness - Whether consciously or subconsciously, most committee members will favor applications presented in a clear and concise manner.
  • Achievement - Belonging to a social or academic organization is one thing, but attaining success within that organization show distinction.
  • Consistency/Improvement - An applicant should show a gradual progression in all activities and pursuits.  There should be a trend of improvement in all areas.
  • Ethics/Values/Morals - There is no specific accomplishment that can fulfill this category.  Committees look for applicants who do something extra - something that is not necessarily achievement-oriented yet reflects his or her own values, such as community service or volunteer work.
  • High Standards/Determination - These characteristics are reflected in grades, test scores, and recognition form others.
  • Individuality/Independence - Individuality and independence can be reflected in the format and content of some essays, having a job for all four years in high school, or creating and leading an organization.
